5 Possible Reasons Why Tonto Dikeh got Criticised for Speaking in Tongues Online.




It was Sunday, so it wasn’t really misplaced if one wanted to get religious or spiritual, but that was not the case of Nollywood actress and mother of one, Tonto Dikeh, who was seriously criticized for posting a video of herself speaking in tongues while praying for her Fans on Instagram.

One would wonder why, certainly her praying for her fans and speaking the word of God to them on a Sunday morning should have been applauded, instead of being frowned upon, so we have been able to narrow it down to 5 reasons why Tonto Dikeh was criticized for posting a video of her speaking in tongues on instagram.
  1. Firstly, How the prayer was done; Spirituality is a very serious topic in a country as religious as Nigeria, Speaking in tongues is a sign of being under the influence of the Holy spirit as generally believed, apparently Tonto was holding a phone and was recording herself while speaking in tongues. Many found that as a charade as they believe she wasn’t really connected at that moment to be speaking in tongues.
  2. Secondly, Her personality; Tonto Dikeh is perceived by many as a drama queen, and one who loves controversy a lot and adores attention. So many believed it to be yet another of her antics to gain attention, as questions as to why she had to speak in tongues on camera to show how much she cares for her fans/followers.
  3. Thirdly, Her Job; Like we all know, Tonto is an actress of High repute, and many who believe her new found faith is an act, just as well concluded that this is yet another act to sell out the role perfectly well, hence the video.
  4. Fourthly, Her past; Tonto has been in the news recently, narrowing it back to her past with drugs, insult thrown towards her colleague, split up with her husband and how she rejoiced about it… etc, with all these controversies around her, many just refuse to agree that she has changed. Divorce is one thing Christianity does not support, so they think it a taboo for her to speak the language of the spirit.
  5. And Lastly, Just Plain Dislike; Well we all know that not everyone will love you, as a star there is always the mixture of love and hate from fans, and well some of those persons who do not see anything good in what Tonto does summed it all up for us.


As we all know, change can come to anyone, and Tonto Dikeh might truly have had just only her Fan’s interest at heart at the time of posting the video, So if you are among the above persons who lashed her for that video, we ask, What If You Were Wrong?

20-year-old lady stabs her husband to death in Anambra

A 20-year-old lady identified as Makoduchukwu Ndubisi, has been arrested by the  Anambra State  Police command after she stabbed husband to death. The  20-year-old lady who was arrested at their residence at NO. 16 Donking Street, Nsugbe, Anambra State, stabbed her husband John Bosko Ngu, on his chest with a sharp knife over a feud yet to be ascertained.
