Police arraigns six #RevolutionNow protesters
The Nigerian police today August 6th, arraigned five people and a lawyer before an Ebute Metta Chief Magistrates’ Court for participating in the Revolution Now protest which held in some parts of the country yesterday Monday, August 5th.
The five persons charged before the court are Ehis Omoshomio, 35; Gabriel Ojumah, 51, Juwon Sanyaolu, 22; Stanley Anobi, 28; Elias Ozikpu, 30 and Kenechukwu Ukachukwu, 25.
They were charged on two counts of unlawful assembly and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace.
All the accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.
Counsel to the State Criminal Intelligence and Information Department Panti, Ibijoke Akinpelu and the resident prosecutor, Insp. Kehinde Omisakin, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on August 5, at 10am at the National Stadium, Surulere.
