President Buhari appoints Thomas John acting Alternate chairman of NNPC Governing board




President Buhari has appointed Dr. Thomas M.A. John as Acting Alternate Chairman of the NNPC Governing Board. 

A statement signed by the Corporation’s Group Managing Director, Maikanti Baru, says Dr. John, a former Group Managing Director of the NNPC, was before the appointment, a member of the NNPC Governing Board.
John will hold the position of the Acting Alternate Chairman of the Governing Board until a new Minister of Petroleum Resources or Minister of State for Petroleum Resources is appointed to assume the Chairmanship or Alternate Chairmanship position, respectively in line with Sections 1(3) and 2(1) of the NNPC Act.
The new appointment takes effect immediately

20-year-old lady stabs her husband to death in Anambra

A 20-year-old lady identified as Makoduchukwu Ndubisi, has been arrested by the  Anambra State  Police command after she stabbed husband to death. The  20-year-old lady who was arrested at their residence at NO. 16 Donking Street, Nsugbe, Anambra State, stabbed her husband John Bosko Ngu, on his chest with a sharp knife over a feud yet to be ascertained. Police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed who confirmed the arrest, said the corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue.
